Share with us your Whaaat?! moments and submit as many moments as you want. We have created a sharing platform that offers you a variety of ways to have your voices heard!

Here are a few ways you can share your Whaaat?! moments:

Video

 

To record your Whaaat?! moments on video, you can use one of the following:

  • Traditional video camera,
  • Mobile device camera, or
  • Camera on your desktop or laptop.

Recording Format

We want you to share authentic stories in the ways they matter to you. So, you can share your story in any way you feel will express your points. The main concepts we want you to capture are the following:

  • How did the Whaaat?! moment occur?
  • Why did it cause discrimination?
  • What can people do to avoid these moments in the future?

Here are some ways that you can record a video about your Whaaat?! moment:

  • Create a reenactment of the Whaaat?! moment with friends and family.
  • Simply speak into a camera and describe your Whaaat?! moment.

Video Sharing

To share your video with us, follow the below steps:

Step 1
Post your videos on your personal YouTube or Vimeo accounts.

Step 2
Share the links to your videos from Youtube or Vimeo on our Facebook page at facebook.com/sharewhaaat or Twitter at @shareWhaaat. Be sure to use the hashtag #Whaaatmoments to unite our conversations!

Letters

 

You can also write letters to share your Whaaat?! moments with us. When you write a letter, be sure to include the following information:

  • How did the Whaaat?! moment occur?
  • Why did it cause discrimination?
  • What can people do to avoid these moments in the future?

Sharing Your Letters With Us

You have three different ways to send us your letter: email, print mail and social media.

Email
1: Type your letter into a word processing software program and save the file as a PDF.
2: Email the PDF to submissions@theawarenesscampaign.com.

Social Media
1: Write your letter and save the file as a PDF.
2: Post your letter on our Facebook page at facebook.com/sharewhaaat or Twitter at @shareWhaaat. Be sure to use the hashtag #Whaaatmoments to unite our conversations!

Creative Works

 

We believe artistic expression is a great way to share your stories and inspire action!

To share your Whaaat?! moments with a creative work, just follow your imagination. We accept any creative and artistic medium, such as:

  • Crafts
  • Creative writing
  • Digital Media
  • Drawings
  • Painting
  • Photography
  • Poetry

Remember, we’re not promoting a creative contest, so don’t focus on trying to “win.” The goal is to express yourself and help others learn the following details from you:

  • How did the Whaaat?! moment occur?
  • Why did it cause discrimination?
  • What can people do to avoid these moments in the future?

Sharing Your Creative Works

We’re happy to receive original creative works from you! But, we also understand that you probably want to keep the original and share a copy with us. To do so, you have three ways to share your creative work: email, printed mail and social media.

Email
1: If possible, save a picture of your work as a PDF file. The file should not be larger then 11″ x 17″ (11 inches by 17 inches) in layout and 10 megabytes (MB) file size.
2: Email your PDF to submissions@theawarenesscampaign.com.

Social Media
1: Take a picture of your creative work.
2: Post your creative work on our Facebook page at facebook.com/sharewhaaat or Twitter at @shareWhaaat. Be sure to use the hashtag #Whaaatmoments and unite our conversations!

We may choose to use your Whaaat?! moments to create videos, graphics and other materials that help The Awareness Campaign pursue our mission. If we select your material for our campaign, we will first contact you to inform you and ask for your permission.

The Awareness Campaign will only share materials that fit our campaign’s mission and goals. So, please follow our submission guidelines.

We only share respectful interactions. The Awareness Campaign reserves the right to delete from our social media accounts any shared content, posts and comments that provoke or promote hatred, violence, bullying, racism, sexism or inappropriate sexual behavior.
